Dina Mehmedbegovic Deputy Director and Qualitative Researcher
I am the longest serving LERU member, since the Unit was established in January 2007. My main responsibilities are producing the London Digest and organising London Seminars. My own research interests are in bilingualism in education, diversity, positioning of minority and foreign languages, intercultural curriculum and global cities. I am currently contributing to the development of The National Workforce EAL Strategy. If you would like to contribute to the London Digest or London Seminars, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Charley Greenwood - Quantitative Researcher

My role is to help disseminate existing research, and to work with new sources of data to inform both practice and future research. My background is in analysis of the returns to education and in survey research design and management.

Dr Rob Higham - RCUK Academic Fellow
I am a Research Fellow at the Institute of Education with interests in schooling in challenging circumstances as well as school collaboration and system leadership. I also undertake research in India and South Africa on themes of educational access and the politics of school provision. I am currently working with LERU on a literature review of young people’s experiences of living and going to school in London.

James Lawrie - Education Consultant
I am a freelance education consultant researcher and programme manager. My specific interests include school leadership and education policy in developing countries, the use of video in monitoring and evaluation, and pupil led research in secondary schools.  In the past few years I have led educational programmes, and undertaken research across the UK, Cambodia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. I am currently working with LERU on a programme with student researchers in three London schools. This project aims to shed light on the opportunities and challenges of living and growing up in London from the perspective of specific cohorts of young people.
