About LERU

The Learning Education Research Unit (LERU) is a new unit established by the Institute of Education (IoE) to develop, co-ordinate and disseminate research on education in London.

Our aim is to help the IOE and fulfil its commitment to the development of London as a world-class city for learning. LERU aims to do this through promoting research and scholarship directly relevant to London, and to work in partnership with key London organisations to help IoE fulfill its commitment to the development of London as a world-class city for learning.

Since January 2007, the LERU has:

Launched three new publications:
- London Digest (a bulletin of accessible research summaries)
- London Figures (a statistical briefing)
- London Research (a single research summary)
Published a book “Education in a Global City: Essays from London”
Organised Seminars and Conferences
Initiated new research in and on London

Our major goal for 2008 is to establish our website as a source of statistical data, research reports and articles, and useful links on education in London. Please keep coming back for new information, and let us know what would be most useful for you.
